Welcome to Day Three! We are thrilled to be a part of the Lotta Jansdotter Everyday Style Blog Tour! The lovely, Kristen Wright of Two Blondes and a Sewing Machine is guest posting for us today with her review of the book , along with some terrific projects she sewed!
Lotta Jansdotter, one of our beloved Windham fabric designers has come out with a book, Everyday Style, and it is amazing! It represents her in every way. The book is set up to be a one stop guide for everyday fashion with a few garments, accessories, and bag designs in a few different styles. There are four sections, one for each season to show off how each design can be used all year round. I truly loved flipping through the book and was more inspired every time I went through it.

I got to pick a few projects to play with which was hard! I wanted to make it all! The first project I just HAD to make was the Pilvi Coat. I adjusted the length on the short jacket so it would hit right below my waistline. To do this I cut my fabric halfway through the long and short coat size, it ended up the perfect length! The jacket came together pretty fast and was a perfect weekend project. I can’t wait to make a few more!

The second project I picked to work on was the Elsa Tote, which was my favorite to work on. The size is perfect for using as a multipurpose bag. It came together within about an hour. Instead of leather handles, I decided to make it a more summery look by adding eyelits and rope. I love how it turned out! Let’s just say I MIGHT need a few more of the Elsa Tote!

My last project was the fabric necklaces. I made three different styles, the bias tape scrap, the bias tape with a bead, and the string with fabric necklace. It took me about an hour to make all five of them and I fell in love with them. This may be my new go to scrap buster accessory!

Now that I’ve made a few projects, I can’t wait to make some more. One of you will also get a chance to be inspired by Lotta’s new book!
Happy Sewing!
